After defeating Oriental Mindoro, 95-76 last August 21, Bacoor City Strikers remained this OKBet-MPBL Fifth Season’s top two among the 29 teams competing.

Because of the Strikers’ back-to-back victories and five-game winning streak, they have improved to an astounding first-place in the tournament’s Southern division with a 21-4 overall record. They remain ahead of the Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards who have a 20-4 record.

In their previous game against Quezon, Jammer Jamito only had a four-point output. However, a turnaround happened when they met with Mindoro, where he poured in 19 points and five rebounds.

As per Jamito’s interview, this is the first time he has been named Best Player, and he is grateful to their coaches for allowing him to share this victory with them and his teammates..

“Walang sawang pagdadasal lang sa Diyos sa ngalan ng Hesukristo, ayon binigyan Niya ako ng magandang laro ngayon(Never-ending prayer to God and in Jesus Christ’s name, He gave me a good game today),” said the first time Best Player of the Game.

Jamito added, “Thank you God tsaka sa mga teammates ko, sa mga coaches, sa family ko, sa asawa ko na walang sawang sumusuporta sakin at nagpapayo (. Thank you God, and also to my teammates, to my coaches, to my family, and to my wife who never stopped supporting and giving me advice).”

Meanwhile, veteran Chito Jaimeassisted Jamito with the victory, finishing the game with11 points and four boards. On the other hand, Mark Yee’s tremendous rebounding, with 15 rebounds to go with his eight points, contributed significantly to the strikers’ 52-35 score ahead in the third quarter.

In the case of the Oriental Mindoro Disciplinados, their fortunes have turned down, and they now remain deep in the bottom standings with a 4-21 record.. Regardless, Paolo Hubalde didn’t let his team’s awful circumstances deter him from trying to get them moving by finishing the game with 14 points, 9 assists, and five rebounds.

Tey Teodoro contributed to Disciplinados by scoring 15 points and grabbing four rebounds. Similarly, Khen Osicos’ determination helped him achieve 10 points and five rebounds—a truly valiant effort.

This  Tuesday, August 22,, the MPBL will head to the Cuneta Astrodome for games against Pasig and Iloilo at 4 p.m., Rizal and Makati at 6 p.m., and Bulacan and Pasay at 8 p.m.
