Life is a symphony of hello’s and farewells, packed with moments that imprint our spirits forever. There are also farewells with a touching flavor as they mark the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.
John Lloyd Clemente, the sweet-shooting wing from National University Community, is leaving the Bulldogs to pursue a professional career with the Pampanga Giant Lanterns of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).
Basketball is not merely a sport; it is a passion that inspires countless people to pursue their ambitions and achieve new heights; therefore, Clemente’s decision to play professional basketball is not surprising.
During his tenure in the NU Community, he showcased remarkable performances over the years, leaving a legacy and a commitment to the NU Basketball Program.
Clemente, as he bid his bittersweet farewell, he expressed his gratitude saying “Maraming salamat sa NU community sa pag-suporta sa’kin sa 10 years na paglalaro ko sa NU. It’s been an honor na makapaglaro para sa Bulldogs at Bullpups.”
The 24-year-old player could not be more grateful to the NU Program for developing his abilities and playing a significant role in his development as a player and a person.
Jeff Napa, The Head coach from NU, also acknowledge Clemente quoted ” Siyempre, nagpapasalamat kami kay JLC para sa lahat ng nagawa niya para sa NU at sa NU community.”
Jeff did not only emphasize his appreciation for Clemente’s performance, but he also emphasized the significance of the real growth of student-athletes in general and at NU in particular. For Jeff, this indicates that these students are not solely focused on athletics but on their academics.
Regardless of Clemente’s decision, it is essential for basketball players to recall that their love and passion for the game ought to guide their choices. Embrace the journey that lies ahead, knowing that each step represents an opportunity for personal and basketball-related development.
