Encho Serrano, a superb Filipino basketball player, has taken the Philippine basketball landscape by storm with his remarkable skills and undeniable potential. Serrano, born on November 9, 2000, in Quezon City, Philippines, has quickly risen through the ranks, enthralling fans with his spectacular performances and winning a spot among the country’s most promising basketball prospects. In this year’s fifth Season of MPBL, Serano has been twice playing with Pampanga’s Giant Lantern and, at the same time, earned the award for being the Player of the Game twice in a row.
Encho Serrano grew up in the basketball-loving country of the Philippines, where the sport is deeply embedded in the culture. At a young age, he discovered his passion for basketball and started honing his skills on local courts. Serrano’s dedication and natural talent caught the attention of coaches and scouts, who recognized his potential early on. This led him to secure a spot in the renowned La Salle Green Hills basketball program, known for producing top-notch players.
Serrano decided to play professionally once his college career ended. Encho left Phoenix Super LPG on Tuesday last May, with his teammates tendering their goodbyes and best wishes to him. In the Pampanga Giant Lanterns, he is reunited with Gov. Delta Pineda. Only two years ago, Serrano led Pampanga to the 2021 National Basketball League-Pilipinas championship. Pineda also coached the team.
