Marvin Hayes is a gifted Filipino professional basketball player who was born on May 13, 1986. He currently plays for the Imus SV Squad in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. Alaska selected him 21st overall in the 2010 PBA draft, altering his trajectory.
However, Marvin Hayes’ career was not always smooth sailing. On September 4, 2013, an intense brawl erupted during a game against the San Mig Coffee Mixers. The fight began with him and Marqus Blakely, a San Mig import. Blakely’s teammate Joe Devance pushed him to the ground, then Kelly Nabong. After their second motion actions, he and Devance received technical fouls. Hayes was fined P20,000 for “unsportsmanlike conduct,” a flagrant foul penalty number two.
On May 11, 2015, Hayes became GlobalPort Batang Pier’s 14th local player, beginning a new chapter in his career. This altered his basketball career by presenting him with new opportunities and challenges.
