San Juan defeated Valenzuela XUR Homes Realty Inc in the OKBet-MPBL Fifth Season round-robin elimination round at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex on August 17, 2023.

The San Juan Knights beat Valenzuela’s XUR Homes Realty Inc. with a commanding score of 115-86, raising their record to 19-5 and strengthening their hold in the standings as third place in the North division out of the 29 teams competing in the tournament.

San Juan’s dominance was evident as early as the first quarter, and they continued to extend their lead until they held a commanding 103-66 advantage. The planning skills of Nikko Panganiban, Zach Huang, Marwin Taywan, AC Soberano, and Orlan Wamar made this powerful push possible.

At the end of the game, Panganiban scored 16 points, including three three-pointers. Huang also did well, scoring 15 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Taywan made his mark with 14 points and nine well-done assists.

Soberano showed his skill by scoring 11 points, and Wamar led the offense by distributing 15 assists, scoring six points, and making three steals, which was an impressive stunt.

Contrastingly, Valenzuela encountered an adverse fate: a drop to a disheartening 3-22 record during the 29th round-robin elimination round.

On Saturday, the MPBL will be at the Strike Gym. At 4 p.m., Quezon City will play against Negros, Manila will play against Zamboanga at 6 p.m., and at 8 p.m., Quezon Province will play against Bacoor.
